Ward Night Recap: February 19, 2025
Thanks to everyone who attended our February 19 Ward Night. Here’s a brief summary of what we discussed:
Affordable Housing. While we have many ongoing initiatives to bring more affordable housing to the ward, we spent time during our ward night conversation discussing a new Green Social Housing initiative. Green Social Housing is an environmentally and fiscally sustainable housing model that will address the housing crisis and target emissions without relying on increasingly at-risk federal resources. Learn more about GSH here.
Hybrid City Council Meetings. Leni discussed recent activity in City Council seeking to ban or limit virtual attendance to City Council meetings.
Broadway Land Use Framework. We discussed the recent community engagement meetings about the new Broadway Land Use Framework which aims to translate community priorities for a pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use corridor into a tool for future decision-making on Broadway from Devon to Montrose. Learn more about the framework here.
Granville Traffic Safety. On February 13, our office held a webinar with CDOT and the 40th ward to present plans for improving traffic safety along Granville. Learn more about this project here.
Under L Community Space Update. Following multiple rounds of community engagement and input, the Red and Purple Modernization project team is ready to unveil their plans for the community space underneath the new L tracks. Learn more and register to attend one of two meetings here.
Going forward, our ward nights will be held on the first and third Tuesday of every month. See this change reflected on our community calendar on our website.
